Aaron Judge was ejected for arguing balls and strikes during Saturday’s game against the Tigers. He went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored before exiting.

That’s the first time Judge has been ejected from a game in his MLB career. Judge appeared to judge — pun intended — the pitch correctly, as the offering appeared to be quite a bit outside of the strike zone. Trent Grisham has taken over in center. It’s unlikely Judge will face further discipline.

Trea Turner told reporters that he expects to miss at least six weeks with his hamstring injury.

Turner told reporters that anything prior to a six-week return would “be a win.” It’s a significant blow for both fantasy managers and the Phillies — and Turner himself, of course — as the shortstop was once again playing at an elite level. Edmundo Sosa should see most of the reps at shortstop while Turner is out, but he’s a far cry from the player that Turner is.

Phillies placed INF Trea Turner on the 10-day injured list with a left hamstring strain.

Turner was removed from Friday’s game against the Giants with soreness in his hamstring, and the Phillies will be without the 30-year-old shortstop for the next week-plus — likely longer. Kody Clemens is up as the corresponding transaction. Edmundo Sosa will likely see most of the reps at shortstop while Turner recovers.
Luis Arraez

SD Second Baseman #3

Padres acquired Luis Arraez and cash considerations from the Marlins for OF Dillon Head, OF Jakob Marsee, 1B Nathan Martorella and RHP Woo-Suk Go.

What was announced Friday is official Saturday. Arraez will head to the Padres after hitting .299 with a 719 OPS over 137 at-bats with the Marlins in 2023, and he’s a career .324/.377/.423 hitter in his time with the Fish and the Twins. He should play everyday and hit near the top of the order, but just keep in mind his strong average doesn’t come with help in other categories.

LAD Center Fielder #84

Andy Pages went 4-for-5 with the game-winning single in the 11th inning to give the Dodgers a 4-3 win over Atlanta on Friday.

Pages put an end to that chapter, with the chapter being an 11-inning affair in this case. The rookie outfielder has his first ever four-hit game, and one of those was a walk-off single in the 11th off Jesse Chavez. Pages has looked the part and then some thus far, and is obviously worthy of roster consideration in redraft leagues.
Luis Arraez

MIA Second Baseman #3

Jeff Passan of ESPN reports that the Padres are finalizing a deal to acquire second baseman Luis Arraez from the Marlins.

Passan notes that the Marlins will receive a package of three prospects and a relief pitcher in return for the two-time defending batting champion. The Padres already have a strong combo up the middle with Ha-Seong Kim and Xander Bogaerts, so its likely that the plan is to play Arraez at either first base or third base. Stay tuned, as Passan notes that the deal is in medical review and expected to be finalized soon.

PHI Shortstop #7

Trea Turner was forced to leave Friday’s matchup against the Giants due to soreness in his left hamstring.

The speedy 30-year-old shortstop singled, stole a base and raced all the way around from second to score on a wild pitch as Bryce Harper walked in the fifth inning, but it seemed to have taken a toll on his hamstring as he was replaced when the Phillies took the field. The severity of the issue — and whether or not he’ll miss any time — remain unclear. More should be known on his status prior to Saturday’s game against the Giants. All fantasy managers can do now is sit tight and hope for the best.

NYY Starting Pitcher #45

The New York Post’s Jon Heyman reports Gerrit Cole (elbow) is now targeting a mid-June return.

Heyman adds that Cole is scheduled to throw his first bullpen session on Saturday as he works his way back from nerve inflammation in his right elbow. The 33-year-old fantasy ace should progress to facing hitters in the coming weeks before heading out on a minor league rehab assignment. He was originally aiming for a late-May return, but it sounds like the Yankees don’t want to rush him back and risk a setback.
Francisco Lindor

NYM Shortstop #12

Francisco Lindor drove in four runs off the bench including a game-winning two-run double in the 10th to give the Mets a 7-6 win over the Cubs on Thursday.

Lindor didn’t start Thursday’s game, but he finished it literally and figuratively. The shortstop doubled home a pair of runs in the sixth, and in the 10th, he turned a 6-5 deficit into a 7-6 victory when he plated a pair with a two-bagger in the 10th to give the Mets the win. It’s one of the best games of the season for Lindor, as even with the strong outing he’s slashing a disappointing .207/.287/.380 in the first month-plus. It goes without saying that Lindor is going to be better in the summer months.
Nathan Eovaldi

TEX Starting Pitcher #17

Nathan Eovaldi was removed from Thursday’s start against the Nationals due to right groin tightness.

Eovaldi will continue to undergo further evaluation, including an MRI on Friday following an early exit from Thursday afternoon’s showdown with a trainer after 92 pitches through 5 2/3 scoreless frames. The 34-year-old righty finished with eight strikeouts and only issued a pair of walks. He was unlikely to work much further into the contest, but the fact that he’s dealing with a groin issue certainly puts his next start in serious jeopardy. There should be some clarity on his status in the coming days.
